Now that you’ve made the important decision to experience the benefits of chiropractic, let us guide you through the next steps.

To ensure adequate time for a small amount of paperwork, please arrive 10 minutes early to your first appointment. If you have reports or x-rays relating to your condition, please bring them with you. Initial office visits are typically 45-60 minutes in length.

Consultation
A consultation with the doctor will provide us valuable information about your health history, any current physical complaints, and treatment goals.

Exam
The doctor will perform an examination of the spine and/or affected body regions in order to form a working diagnosis of your problem. The exam may include visual inspection of the area, palpation, joint range of motion, orthopedic and neurologic tests.

X-Rays (Radiographs)
A radiographic study may be indicated, depending upon your complaint and health history. Not all patients require x-rays, but should they be necessary for you, they are usually taken during your first office visit.

Treatment
Now that we understand your condition, we can determine which types of treatment are most appropriate for you. If a referral to another specialty is also indicated, we will provide it.

We will also answer any questions regarding the recommended treatments, prognosis and costs.

We often provide treatment on the first office visit. This may include chiropractic manipulation, physiotherapy, stretches and home-care instructions.

Follow-Up
You will be advised to schedule a follow up appointment so that we can track your progress and provide further care, if needed.  Healing can take time, but the benefits are long lasting.  How long you choose to take advantage of chiropractic care is always up to you.  We’re here to help!
